Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Regime

The Free Trade Zone Regulation combines incentives and benefits granted by the Costa Rican Government to those companies complying with the requirements and obligations established under Law 7210 of November 1990 and its amendments. These incentives and benefits are geared toward economic operations related to the importation of raw materials, the input, fabrication, assembly, and marketing of products and services, and the subsequent exportation of these goods or services.

Our firm has extensive experience in helping foreign companies successfully apply for the Free Trade Zone Regime granted by the Costa Rican Government through the Ministry of Foreign Commerce and its Foreign Investment Office "PROCOMER." We also work extensively with foreign investment promoters like CINDE.

Among the clients we have recently helped achieve Free Trade Zone Regime permission are ALCOA CSI Centro America (an ALCOA Inc. owned company), KES Systems, and Service Costa Rica (a Sunright of Singapore group member).
